Terminator 3 Extended Future War (War Zone) and some of the Franchise’ mistakes:

Posted by TheTerminatorFans.com on Wednesday, March 03, 2010

terminator 3 arnoldWell here we go…. Alot of T3 data lies around the internet on deleted scenes. Terminator 3 was originally meant to be a very different movie. After the certain destruction of two buildings in a terrorist attack the movie industry took a smash.
Arnold’s career took a smash and all films involving explosions, terrorists and warfare were either delayed or toned down. Terminator 3 took it hard and it shows.

The first Terminator was released by Orion (the same people who released Robocop) in an age where gore and violence with robots was all in aid of fun and great storytelling.

We are in the digital age where X rated pornography, snuff and other sickening “entertainment” is accessible to any weirdo on the internet. Yet the movies we watch at the cinema have practically no blood or violence. The Terminator used to be about a killer cyborg, T2 kept the killing but bordered on a big brash action movie but stayed true. Most people prefer Terminator 2 as a movie but when you grow up you start to admire the evilness conveyed by Schwarzenegger in the first picture. Most people want Schwarzenegger to return to the franchise as a bad T800 from the future.

Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation have literally killed the millenium’s relaunch of Terminator. Terminator 3 was a comedy and Salvation was a trailer as far as we are concerned. They are not whole stories, they rely on a sequel to tell the rest of the story. This is not acceptable.

If Terminator 2 had never been made we would all remember the Terminator as a movie and hey, Kyle Reese succeeded his mission… John Connor can go on to win the war. Story told… Terminator 2 was created because we wanted another story in this universe and the world was in admiration… James Cameron pulled it off even if for some fans he was bordering on making the series less brutal and more mainstream, he managed to not omit penetration of blades, gunshots and deaths being in the movie.

Terminator 3 took the series in the worst goddamn direction possible. The digital age! Where special effects do not look real, where ridiculous colour schemes were force-fed into the cameras and lighting abandoned the orginal black and dark blue hues of the first picture. Terminator 2 kept this lighting for its nighttime shoots. Terminators should be night movies and this should not be changed. I think it’s a choice directors make to avoid comparison to Cameron. What I would like is for a director to mimic Cameron’s best bits and then add some more… This series needs a talented person who is willing to be compared to Cameron and go “Hey look, I’ve done my best to make a ‘true’ Terminator movie”. I would not think any less of the director or his ability! I would be more than happy if a director managed to do exactly that!

Terminator Salvation was McG’s biggest misunderstanding. His trailer looked great. But people were very unhappy with his future war… there was no war. He even stated “this is a war movie”… McG what opiates have you been taking. Your movie is not a WAR movie. If your movie was edited soooo much why won’t you have the balls to say “THEY CHANGED MY FUCKING MOVIE AND MADE ME CHANGE THE WHOLE THING”. No you don’t. Why? because they own your ass! Otherwise you would confront the fanbase. You wanted to finish your trilogy but now fans DO NOT WANT your return. You pretended to understand what the fans wanted and got it all wrong. Your film actually conveyed that you understood nothing about the series and you used the excuse “this is not the future my mother warned me about” to break all the rules of the franchise. Kyle Reese states in the first picture that by day you keep your head down and at night you can move around. A world of permanent darkness was even used in a T3 trailer! at least Mostow understood that much… and he really made a picture we didn’t respect much. A deleted scene in the first picture shows Kyle Reese cry at the sight of plants and trees. He said It was beautiful and in his future it’s all gone there is nothing but remains of the world as it used to be before the machines rose from the ashes of the nuclear dawn. I accept infra-red technology is now more advanced but don’t break the rules… The reason for permanent darkness can be explained via noxious gasses emitted from the explosions… maybe after a good number of years they would disburse but until then darkness all the way baby!

Now if all these Radioactive bombs had hit the earth then the humans would be experiencing illness. Deformed children at childbirth and severe vomiting in some cases. WHERE ARE THE ILL SICK PEOPLE hunting rats in corridors like the first T1 movie. No, everyone’s got clean shaven faces, trimmed beards, perfect hair, make up and more. This is a joke. IT AINT A MUSIC VIDEO McG! Where’s the gritty realism?

So back to Terminator 3 after the whole rant of the entire series…

Terminator 3 was meant to be very different. 9/11 changed Terminator and so did money hungry fat cats of the movie industry:

Building devastated by a jet fighter:

Some things I remember are the staff/crew purchasing office furniture for use in a large scene in which Arnold would fight a jet fighter. He was then meant to take on the TX in this battle in which a big building would take lots of damage…. (a large building with rooms full of office furniture, sounds like CRS)

Source proof: T3: The Redemption (computer game) features a fight with TX/jet-fighter … NOT STRONG PROOF but sounds as though we were meant to get a highway chase and jet fighter battle… ?

A more detailed judgment day scene (the worlds end):

This was canceled as during these scenes a plane was meant to fall out the sky during the initial blast, with passengers!

Terminator 3 concept art:

Skynet Pyramid featured on the old official Terminator3.com, also Centurions where in the T3 concept art section. This shows elements of continuity where going to be set up in order for a bridge between old T2 ideas and T23D.

The T-1: (the first Terminator)

Stan Winston’s orginal concept Art showed models of a lot more sinister robot. It more resembled a Jap Anime mecha style of imagery. The concept on the old T3 site looked great, it was a great evolutionary step for the T-70 at Universal Studios Terminator 2 3D ride. Then we got the sack of shit that is the T1… and they even brought it back for Salvation. Salvation’s design was better (a matter of colour and texture) not actually structurally different. I care not for its return its concept destroyed it just to look at.

TX was originally meant to be made up of Sentient frequency matter:

Basically meaning… made from pure energy. Are we really supposed to believe that if Skynet failed with an endoskeleton… and with a T1000 that its next evolution would be…… an endoskeleton with liquid metal on the top of it… with weapons on its arms?… Piss off.

Imagine Pure energy as the next incarnation of evil. What could be more relentless than something that can basically disappear/reappear and manipulate anything it comes into contact with. The TX could have literally burned people alive by walking through them as a cloud of electricity or something along those lines.

Also from an idea perspective would it not be more interesting that rather than Arnold arriving in a desert and acquiring clothes, that instead he’s just shown being caught, reprogrammed and then sent back in time from the inside of Skynet? Then the next time you see him he appears in a massive action sequence just when you think John’s going to die… ?

Also they stated that TX could control any machine… they never mentioned a blue needle finger that needed to be injected into machines in order to take control… We have stated numerous times that it would be more interesting if Arnold suddenly changed from good to bad repeatedly in T3. So you never know whose side he’s on. Arnold acting with no expression or signals as to whether he is good or bad would be more interesting.

Construction of Endoskeletons filmed and removed…. What was the point of removing this key moment?

Killing of a small girl removed. In the official movie comic he walks upstairs and kills a small girl playing computer games while a pool party goes on downstairs.

Now for the biggie, something to me that’s totally new… so I must share it with the people that do not know….

Why was the future war so limited in Terminator 3…. because there was meant to be a flash forward into the future…

You read this right!

To whatever extent this scene existed, it featured a future kate connor/brewster and an adult John Connor.

Theory:

The flash forward was most likely to be the assassination of John Connor and the capture of the T850… “We’ll meet again”. A flash forward most likely would have occurred at a specific point in the movie.

The proof:

While searching the internet we came across these images. Looks like Nick Stahl took the jacket home!!

John Connor’s (Nick Stahl) Future War Costume

John Connor’s (Nick Stahl) future war costume worn in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. The costume was worn in the scene at the beginning of the film where we see John Connor standing elevated and encouraging his troops, it was also used in an extended scene set during the future war, which wasn’t used in the film and so far still hasn’t been included in the DVD. The costume consists of a zip up tight fitting t-shirt, a camouflaged pair of trousers with silver belt with round buckle, a pair of goggles, a pair of black ‘dirty’ gloves, pair of ‘dirty’ black boots (U.S. size 9½).

The costume was worn in an extended scene set during the future war, which wasn’t used in the film and so far still hasn’t been included in the DVD. The costume consists of a roll necked jumper and worn leather waistcoat with a badge featuring three interlinking triangles, a pair of worn leather trousers, a silver belt with round buckle, a pair of goggles, a cap with a matching badge like the one on the waistcoat and a pair of black ‘dirty’ gloves.

So there you go and most likely the T900 could have been in this flashforward too but there is no proof of what this scene entailed. Overall maybe removing this scene was done for a reason. Did it look shit…. or was it actually good but made the rest of the film look bad? Who knows… what we will accept is the fact that if these scenes would have gone ahead, maybe it would be harderfor fans to transition over to Christian and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Will we ever see these scenes released on a true director’s cut of the third movie. Or was the scene removed from existence for good by the editing room.

We demand that the new owners of the Terminator franchise release a new cut of Terminator 3 to make up for the Elton John glasses and the horrific song followed by Arnold exiting the petrol station. Is it possible they could go back and edit the film better and remove utter comedy shit from the movie…. Who the hell knows anymore. After all it seems the many different owners do not care to please the fans. We should be taken more seriously… Shouldn’t we?
